About Disability Revolution Inc.

We’re not your typical disability consulting firm.

D R Icon with a scribbled megaphone graphic.

We’re a 100% disability- and woman-owned national firm. Providing disability consulting and professional services. We’re dedicated to Disrupting The Status Quo — in systems, culture, policy, and practice.

Born from decades of disability lived and professional experience and expertise. Disability Revolution is the boldest, most authentic disability-led, -owned, -controlled, consulting firm. Across the country we reimagine how entities engage with disability and the community. Servicing state and community-based organizations, for-profits, local, state, and national government entities.

Disability Revolution was intentionally crafted to be different by design. The lives (and livelihoods) of our peeps with disabilities matter beyond measure. We can no longer survive and rely upon the status quo!

We don’t do performative “check-the-box” inclusion. Tokenization is gross and isn’t how we roll.

We build systems, develop strategies, and shift policy and practice (in tandem with our bad-ass clients). Ones that work for real disabled peeps, in the real world.

Disability Revolution wants to partner with courageous clients. Those looking to change the world and push boundaries to make this vision a reality. Contact us Today to learn how!

Our Vision

We envision a world where our peeps with disabilities lead the change. Personally and professionally disrupting systems, transforming culture, and shifting power dynamics.

A world where we control our stories, direct our lives, and thrive. Communities built for all of us with any type of disability, identity, or background, not just some of us.

Disability is not a deficit, weakness, or burden… it’s Our Culture. Our Power. Our Future. Inclusion is barely a baseline. True liberation is the goal.

Our Mission

Disability Revolution centers and elevates disabled expertise, leadership, and lived experience. In every space, place, and facet of its work.

We equip and empower our clients to move from performative to authentic transformation. Through ambitious advocacy/activism, bold strategy, and courageous truth-telling.

We educate. We consult. We agitate. We create. And we do it all with love, precision, and power — because that’s how revolutions happen.

Our Values

Love of all our peeps with disabilities and our collective power fuels us. Integrity and accountability define us. And liberation for our disability community guides us. These values inform how we conduct work for and with our amazing clients.

We lead from disability lived experience. Proven disabled professionals with decades of dual knowledge and expertise. Especially within the inner and outer workings of systems, policies, and programming. This drives every plan, strategy, effort, and action at Disability Revolution.

We move beyond “talk” to disrupt and dismantle barriers and gatekeeping. We access vital information and resources to help create policy and craft opportunities. Ones that will allow our peeps in the disability community to thrive.

Basic access is the floor, not the ceiling. At Disability Revolution we design, redesign, and overhaul with empathy. Meaningful change requires to uphold real freedom and flexibility. In our systems, infrastructure, policies, and practices. Not some cookie-cutter, best-practice, or standardized forced fit.

Everyone means everyone. Our work includes and addresses the needs of our peeps of all types. Disabilities, chronic illnesses/health conditions, ages (cradle to grave), cultures, identities, backgrounds, etc.

We lead with compassion, empathy, and candor. Love is our most disruptive act. Love combined with candor can at times feel awkward and uncomfortable. To borrow from the words of author Brene Brown — “Clear is kind.”

At Disability Revolution we believe in the necessity of hard, messy, difficult conversations. Beautiful, powerful change often happens in these moments not in a vacuum or the land of status quo. Even if the convos shake up the table, change starts with honesty and vulnerability. Recognizing and acknowledging unintentional or intentional harm imposed upon the disability community.

We know we are better and stronger and more resilient together. We are all on a lifelong learning journey. One to understand ourselves, each other, and the systems we live, work, and rely upon to survive/thrive. At Disability Revolution, we share our insider, secret stuff. Both with our clients and the disability community to collectively grow.

Our Principles

  1. Nothing About Us Without Us — Always. Experts with disabilities design, decide, and direct every part of our work.
  2. Embracing Intersecting Identities is Non-Negotiable. We amplify the voices of our peeps with disabilities. Especially those who live at the intersections. We honor and embrace all identities, not just some of them.
  3. Action Over Optics. We don’t do performative. We actually change shit for the better and create measurable impact.
  4. Self-Determination & Autonomy Is Power. Every disabled person deserves control — over their body, choices, and future.
  5. Collaboration Over Competition. We build coalitions, not silos. The work we do is collective.
  6. Accountability to the Community. We answer to our peers with disabilities, not politics. Progress means nothing without integrity.
  7. Disruption With Purpose. We disrupt to rebuild. Every challenge we spark is rooted in compassion, courage, and systemic transformation.

We’re not radical. The system is outdated and ripe for a revolution.

Meet Our Chief Revolutarionary Officer

Amber OHaver (She/Her)

Founder, Owner, & Chief Revolutionary Officer — Disability Revolution, Inc.

Red and black graphic of Amber OHaver. Next to a quote. Go ahead, underestimate me. That'll be fun. She smiles with her hands on her hips. Wearing a Life Rolls On shirt while in her wheelchair.

Amber OHaver is the unapologetic force behind Disability Revolution, Inc.

She’s a proud disabled woman, and fierce advocate/activist/agitator. National disability rights leader with nearly 30 years of lived and professional experience. Disrupting systems that weren’t built for her — or for her disabled peeps.

After decades of being labeled a “misfit” — dismissed, silenced, and gatekept in rooms she helped build — Amber finally said: Enough.

She founded Disability Revolution, Inc. to rewrite the narrative around disability — turning the word misfit into a movement. Her vision was bold and simple. Create a radically different kind of disability consulting firm — one that is:

  • 100% disability and woman-owned.
  • Fully disability-led.
  • Unapologetically driven by disabled professionals. The true experts on disability, including their own lives, needs, and liberation.
  • Actually driven. One that produces substantially impactful results for its clients. As well as her peeps in the disability community!

Amber brings nearly three decades of leadership. Both in national Disability Rights and Independent Living Movements. She spent over a decade of transformative years as Deputy Director for organizations. Including accessABILITY and Center for Independent Living. As well as Executive Director of the Indiana Statewide Independent Living Council (INSILC). Which helped set the foundation for this revolution.

She has a proven track record collaborating with various groups. State and federal agencies, organizations, and legislators. Councils/commissions, for-profits, nonprofits, and disability-led coalitions. All to amplify disabled leaders. As well as educate/train, mobilize/organize, move policy, and shift power. Her work made Amber a respected (somewhat feared) powerhouse in advocacy spaces. Revered for her sharp wit, dynamic voice, and unrelenting push for disability justice.

Amber attended Ball State University (undergraduate and graduate) for Communications and Public Relations. She currently lives in Avon, Indiana, with her husband Chad and their brand-new pup named Ollie. Who already runs the show and is otherwise known as the Chief Chihuahua In-Charge!

A Note From Amber

I established Disability Revolution because the disability community is tired and done waiting for permission to belong. We already belong. Disability Revolution is here to make sure the rest of the world catches up. And we want to work with brave, bold clients wanting the same.
